QA Engineer

Needham, MA

LowerAir is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with 2-4 years testing experience. As part of the QA group you must be a team player who can succeed in our flexible, fast-paced environment. Activities include test planning, test execution, release management, and improving development/testing processes. Must be self sufficient and work independently. Must be able to react quickly and handle change.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyze business and project requirements and develop appropriate test scenarios;
  • Test and release features/products in support of our web sites and products; and,
  • Work as part of a team with project managers, developers and end users

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • 2-4 years experience in software testing;
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent;
  • Hands-on experience writing test cases, plans, procedures;
  • Logging and following up on defects and enhancements in the issue tracking system;
  • Work experience testing web-based products;
  • Experience writing automated tests with JUnit and HttpUnit a plus;
  • Experience performing SQL or queries to extract data from databases for verification and validation;
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to meet commitments; and,
  • Must be able to learn quickly and apply to task at hand

Print Media Creative Traffic Manager

Needham, MA

LowerAir's in-house advertising agency is seeking a Creative Traffic Manager who will be responsible for managing print, online and signage projects as an integral part of an exceptional creative team of designers and marketing professionals who provide services to the company and its IT media. The right candidate will enjoy working in a group, thrive with a large workload and know the importance of customer satisfaction. He/she will be passionate, mature, sociable and organized.

The Creative Traffic Manager will act as a liaison to client groups within the company, and he/she is ultimately responsible for delivering client projects on time.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Understand and champion the client groups' goals;
  • Proactively communicate smarter scheduling, unexpected conflicts and necessary compromise;
  • Actively oversee the creative process from project inception to completion, including managing input and review cycles;
  • Work closely with creative group members to communicate with clients about recommendations and solutions;
  • Ensure that resource allocation is distributed as planned;
  • Monitor versions, changes and workflow;
  • Communicate best practices to client groups; and,
  • Distribute and maintain project documentation, including project spreadsheets, schedules and weekly reports

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Proven ability to be agile with a fast moving, often changing workload and project list;
  • Proven organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Superb interpersonal communication and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to work well with clients and co-workers at all levels within organizations;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of processes and tools;
  • Significant experience with MS Office applications;
  • 1 to 2 years experience with a similar role in a marketing, agency or event management environment; and,
  • Bachelors’ degree
